Practice at the Open Space
The Open Space is a shared zone at Atelier Tou, dedicated entirely to independent ceramic practice. You have free access to the studio’s equipment, allowing you to work at your own pace on personal projects in a creative, collaborative, and inspiring environment. The space is open on weekdays and weekends.
This format is designed for experienced individuals who are confident working with high-fire clays and capable of working semi- or fully autonomously. Unlike weekly classes, no direct instruction is provided during Open Space sessions. However, Anna, the studio manager, will be available at certain times during the day and on weekends to offer occasional guidance.

Firing and glazing
Firing of your pieces is included up to 18 cm in width and height. For larger pieces, the price will depend on the size of your pieces and will be calculated by the workshop manager.
The workshop does not accept firing of pieces made outside of the workshop.
Glazing of your pieces is an integral part of your Free Practice sessions, during workshop time slots. Glazing sessions will be organized by the ceramist in a group setting so that everyone can participate. Remember to reserve one or more sessions on your card for the glazing of your pieces.
Equipment
Participants agree to respect the workshop infrastructure and equipment, while leaving their workspace clean upon departure.
To come to the workshop, participants are asked to bring their own equipment, including a tool kit, sponges, microfiber cloths, and an apron. A storage box will be provided to allow you to safely leave your materials at the workshop.
The price includes use of the equipment and large tools, as well as access to the kitchen (fridge and microwave) and the refreshment area (tea, coffee, water).
Raw materials
Clays are not included in the Open Space rates. You can purchase them at the workshop in 5kg or 10kg batches. The workshop prices include the cost of the glazes, which you will therefore have free access to.
If you wish to bring your own glazes or any other equipment to the workshop, this must first be approved by a member of the team.
